One of the few trees to flower in mid-Summer, Golden Rain Tree is a fast growing, extremely tough deciduous specimen tree native to China. It has a nice round form often growing to a mature height of 30′ by 30′. When in bloom, is literally loaded with long one foot showy panicles of bright yellow flowers. This tree is extremely adapatable, and can be grown in even poor, compacted soil. It is easy to grow and rarely bothered by pests. It grows very quickly and is a very desirable tree to grow as a specimen, small shade, focal point, or street tree. Winter hardy from zones 5-9.

Golden Rain Tree (Koelreuteria paniculata) This Asian native is another tree for your general urban stress situation. Heat and drought tolerant. In the nearby community of Germantown they are effectively planted as street trees. Their mature height can be up to 30 ft and with age it will reach the same spread. It is a pretty rapid grower. The mid summer inflorescent bright yellow flowers are responsible for the common name and last up two weeks. This is virtually the only tree to flower in mid-Summer (early July) in Northern climates . Clusters of lime-colored three-sided pods form in Summer, and slowly change to beige then mature to medium brown by Autumn, lasting throughout the Winter and persisting into the following Spring, with each pod containing one to three round black seeds. Zone 5-9. We are trying a different shipping mode this year since UPS does give is very good rates these days, we pulled your plants out of a larger pot and soak them, plant the plants back into a smaller container for shipping and monitor it for a few days to make sure it does not stress. Than we ship it in that container.
